The Carrera Impel IM-3 sits at the top of the Impel range and with these specs it's clear to see why. Boasting a powerful fully integrated 496 Wh battery allowing for an average range of 35 - 40 miles* (max 75 miles) on a single charge. The rear hub motor is powered by a built in torque sensor ensuring you get assistance from the very first stroke of the pedal.
USB charging through the LCD display allows you to use the bike’s battery to keep other devices charged such as your smartphone. Whether commuting or cruising around town, the robust and lightweight aluminium frame provides a comfortable and smooth ride. Stopping power is provided by hydraulic disc brakes which are now used on most premium bikes thanks to their superior performance in all conditions.
Helping the bike excel on rougher off-road paths, the bike also benefits from wide tyres with safety reflective walls and double-walled rims for added puncture protection – so there’s less chance of your ride being cut short by a pesky puncture!
Range
All electric bikes indicate a maximum mileage range that they can cover on a single battery charge. This is the furthest range in ideal conditions; however, this range can be impacted by a number of factors:
• The combined weight of the rider and any luggage.
• The assistance mode selected.
• The cycling route (e.g. type of terrain and inclines).
• Temperature and climate (e.g. cold weather will decrease the performance of the battery).
• Tyre pressure.
• Wind speed and direction.

With an impressive 496Wh capacity, the battery will power your ride for up to 75 miles, more than enough for the average commute.* It’s also fully integrated into the frame, creating a sleek look and resulting in better weight distribution. Then, at the simple turn of a key, you can remove the battery and charge it away from the bike between rides.
Supporting the battery is the Hyena rear hub motor which provides improved traction and handling. Combined with the 10-speed cassette, you’ll have enough gears and assistance for the steepest of hills.
Boasting an impressive 45NM of torque, the motor also has an in-built torque sensor that automatically starts providing assistance as soon as you start pedalling and will adjust the assistance in response to your input, providing a natural ride feel.
*The maximum range will depend on the capacity of the battery, rider and luggage weight, power mode setting and riding style.
LCD display
Controlling the level of assistance and tracking your ride couldn’t be easier through the LCD display.
Allowing you to choose between 3 assist modes and a walk mode, you’ll always receive the level of assistance you need.
The display also provides key information like speed and battery level and, when connected to the Hyena Rider Assistant app via Bluetooth, you can unlock additional features including metrics, battery charge and health status and details for any error codes.
