Refreshed for the model year, the HYB 8.8 takes all that is great in the 8.6 and introduces 1x10 gears and a carbon fork for a lighter, more comfortable and easier to operate bike. As well suited to the city as it is out on the country roads, the HYB 8.8 is an easy-to-ride bike that will take you wherever you want to go.
The Boardman HYB 8.8 is built on a lightweight, aluminium frame with hidden welds which is paired with a carbon tapered fork to offer great handling and reduced vibrations. The Schwalbe 35mm tyres offer dependability, comfort, and grip with K-guard technology to give you durability and puncture protection. The HYB 8.8 offers smooth and precise shifting courtesy of Shimano’s new 1x10 Deore. Add this to the simplicity of a 1x10 giving a great range of gears with minimal maintenance, all controlled through one lever. Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes provide powerful stopping in all weather conditions.

More About The New Boardman HYB 8.8 Hybrid Bike
Sleek, considered design
The HYB 8.8 is built on a triple-butted aluminium frame which is lightweight and includes features such as dropped seat stays for added comfort. The 1-piece bar and stem*, which includes matching headset spacers, contributes to an overall sleek design finish. The 8.8 also gets a carbon fork which not only reduces the overall weight of the bike but reduces vibrations from the road for a more comfortable ride.
New Shimano Deore 1x10
The HYB 8.8 features Shimano’s new M4100 Deore 1x10 drivetrain. This set-up includes an 11-46T cassette which offers a range of gearing that can overcome even the steepest hill. Mountain bike derived technology such as a clutch mech and narrow-wide chain ring ensures the chain always stays on, regardless of how bumpy the ride gets. With only one gear at the front this system is not only lighter but also easier to operate and maintain than more traditional drivetrains.

With Chris Boardman as Chairman of the company, Boardman have a wealth of experience to draw on and are always looking at the fine details when developing bikes. Using data from hundreds of bike fits and insight from bike fit experts, they have made simple changes to the touch points of the bikes. They’ve worked to develop a range of saddles using advanced pressure mapping and real-world testing to make sure any saddle on a Boardman bike is going to suit the majority of people riding it.

The SKS Longboard 700c 45mm Mudguards are a great choice for staying dry when hitting puddles and their clean lines compliment those of the bike. The Kryptonite Evo Mini Lock and Flex Cable is lightweight and compact and ensure syour new ride is safe when out of sight. Adding the Halfords Dual Action bike pump (with pressure gauge) ensures you can keep your tyres topped up and tailor your pressures to your ride or load.

Free Click & Collect Orders
You can reserve your bike online and pick it up from the store of your choice.
Please note: The expected collection time for your order will be communicated to you on the product page after entering your post code. This will then be confirmed when you have completed checkout. For Bikes Please wait for your store to phone you to arrange a suitable collection time. (a colleague will confirm an appointment to collect or select home delivery. We are currently unable to complete instore bike purchases without an appointment’)
Following the new social distancing measures published by the Government to keep our colleagues and customers safe, we respectively ask that you observe the following guidelines when collecting your Click & Collect order:
Customers for now will not be allowed into our stores, we will have a desk within our store entrances to transact and hand over products.
Before getting to Store
You will receive a confirmation SMS text informing you of when your order is ready for collection. If you have ordered a bike, please wait for your store to phone you to arrange a suitable collection time.
When visiting a store
To help protect everyone, stores will not be open for browsing. Instead we are introducing two new ways to shop with us:
- A drive in, pick or collect point. This will be situated at the check in desk in the entrance to our stores. Here you will be able to get your Click and Collect purchase. If you have not used our Click and Collect service, our colleagues will be able to take your order and retrieve the product for you.
- Drive in, fit and repair. This is for essential fittings and services. Simply park your car at the front of our stores and request your service at the check in desk.
During your visit
To help keep everyone safe, please only approach our check in desk when there are no other customers being served.
Please stay 2 metres apart from customers and colleagues while they serve you or service your vehicle. To help make this easier, we will be marking out safe distances at the entrance to our store.
Payment - We will only be accepting card payments.
Returns - For product returns you will no longer need to fill in any paperwork.
