New for the model year, the URB 8.6 is Boardman’s entry level Urban Hybrid bike. Sleek, simple, reliable and easy to maintain, this lightweight bike is fast and efficient making it ideal for getting around without a fuss.
The Boardman URB 8.6 is built on a lightweight, hydroformed aluminium frame with smooth welds and a tapered aluminium fork which offers fantastic stability and steering control. The frame has been designed to be efficient whilst maximising comfort and ensuring the rider has good head up visibility. Vittoria 32mm tyres give confidence with superb grip and comfort but also have low rolling resistance so speed is not lost. They also feature a puncture resistant layer to keep your riding as hassle free as possible. The URB 8.6 uses a nexus 3-speed hub paired with a rust resistant chain that are low maintenance and therefore a perfect combination for city commutes. No matter the weather you’ll be able to rely on the Tektro hydraulic disc brakes to bring you to a controlled stop quickly.

Aluminium frame and Tapered Fork
The URB 8.6 is built on a triple-butted aluminium frame with hydroformed tubes allowing some intricate shapes which give the bike a unique and purposeful look. This look is complimented by an elegant application of subtle decals which add a splash of silver to the high quality dark grey paint. The lightweight aluminium fork is tapered which gives additional width where the fork meets the frame, offering increased stability and steering precision.
All year-round practicality
Ensuring that it makes a perfect commuter no matter the weather, the URB 8.6 features mounting points which will allow you to fit a variety of pannier racks and mudguards. When you are loaded up the powerful Tektro hydraulic disc brakes will make sure you come to a fast and controlled stop come rain or shine. The Shimano Nexus 3 speed hub gear is sealed from the elements meaning you don’t have to worry about constant maintenance and the rust-resistant chain adds to the low fuss nature of this bike.
