How to connect your phone to Amazon Alexa on your JVC KD-X372BT
If you’ve decided to add your favourite voice-activated home assistant to your car by using a new JVC KD-X372BT, here’s our quick guide to getting things up and running,
Step one: Get your new stereo fitted and working
This one is a no-brainer, but remember that Halfords can fit it for you if you aren’t practical when it comes to installing new tech or fiddling around with your car. Make sure it’s fully connected and that the Bluetooth is activated and working.
Step two: Download and install Alexa
Before you head to the car, make sure the Alexa app is installed on your smartphone and that you are signed in. You can download the Alexa app for free from the Apple and Android app stores.
Step three: Pair your phone
Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is switched on, then search for your JVC KD-X372BT head unit in your devices list. Press the pair button, then follow the commands on both your phone’s screen and on the head unit. You may need to enter a pin code depending on your phone, but in most cases it should connect automatically.
Step four: Configure Alexa
Once your phone is connected to the stereo, you’ll need to open the Alexa app and add the stereo as a new device. You’ll find the JVC KD-X372BT under the headphones section in the ‘add device’ section of the Alexa menu. Tap it, and you should get an ‘Alexa connected’ message on the screen of the JVC-X372BT.
Step five: Start talking
Try giving Alexa a few commands before you drive anywhere, so you can play with the volume settings or troubleshoot while parked safely. Once you’re happy with everything, you’re good to go!
If you’ve bought or are thinking of buying a JVC KD-X372BT, then don’t forget that Halfords can fit it for you. Just select ‘add fitting’ at the online checkout or ask a Halfords colleague in-store.
