What Colour Is My Car?

Finding the exact colour car paint to cover up the unsightly scratch on your car can be a daunting prospect. With thousands of shades available of a single colour, you want to make sure that the spray paint you buy is an exact match. You will need:

• Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
• The Colour Code

Not surprisingly, most people ask, ‘Where can I find my paint code?’ Our Halfords expert colleagues can help you to find these numbers as they are located on your vehicle. Why not visit your local store where one of our expert colleagues will be able to help you. They will look up your vehicle registration number in our unique database to locate where your vehicle VIN plate is located as all manufactures use different locations to display this information. Once they have the location, they will be able to provide you with your paint code by checking it on your vehicle.

If you wish to find these numbers at home, you will need to find your VIN plate. Most often though, the paint code will be found on a plate/sticker inside the driver’s door or inside the glovebox. See our diagram below for the most common places to check!
